In Memory of Sharon B. Crowley

A portrait of Sharon Crowley, seated outdoors, wearing a grey heather vest and dark long sleeve shirt. She is facing the camera and has a gentle smile.

Sharon B. Crowley, who passed away on January 26, 2026, was raised on Maple Shade Farm in Rutland Town, Vermont. She and her four siblings participated in 4-H programs as children, showing their animals and entering home-grown and handcrafted goods in the Vermont State Fair.

As a young adult Sharon traveled abroad with the International Farm Youth Exchange program under the National 4-H Council. She learned about Australian rural farming while living and working on a sheep farm there.

Sharon remained connected to her 4-H roots in her education career as a Home Economics teacher and later the Director of the Stafford Technical Center in Rutland.

Throughout these years, she volunteered with the UVM Extension Service at the University of Vermont. Sharon was a champion of technical education and preparing youth and adults for meaningful and economically stable employment.

To provide others with the experiences that shaped a meaningful part of Sharon’s life, the family asks you to consider a donation in her honor to the Vermont State 4-H Foundation. The foundation aids in supporting many state, regional, and national programs for youth. Programs include dairy, sheep, goat, horse, gardening, engineering & math, teen leadership, and more.

Please note: if you use the donate button below, a small fee will be incurred from PayPal. If you prefer to have 100% of your donation go to all 4-H programs or a program of your choice, please send a check to:
